Speaker Bio: Dr. James L. Powell has a Ph.D. in Geochemistry from MIT. He served as Acting President of Oberlin College, President of Franklin and Marshall College, President of Reed College, President of Franklin Institute Science Museum in Philadelphia and President and Director of the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History. Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush appointed him to the National Science Board, where he served for 12 years. This event is open to USC undergraduate students.
