Dear Students;

We hope this finds you and your family well.

Even though the university is mostly working remotely, our community is working furiously on various efforts to fight COVID-19.  A few key Viterbi spaces including our Center for Advanced Manufacturing and our machine shop, have stayed open to create critical PPE (personal protective equipment) to protect healthcare workers on the front line.

Many of you have expressed a keen interest to help ensure a steady supply of PPE to medical professionals fighting COVID-19. Our campus has been working alongside Keck Medicine of USC to develop hospital-approved PPE.  We would like to call on our Viterbi Family to share their expertise and energy as we take on this unprecedented challenge together.

Some of you may have 3D printers or laser cutters at home. Others may have access to important raw materials or supplies. And lastly, some of you may be able to volunteer your time by delivering materials or developing designs.

We are collecting names and contact information of those individuals in greater Los Angeles region who wish to take up the fight.  Please visit this Viterbi webpage to sign up and help!

Our campus community has stepped up to help Keck Medicine of USC but there are other neighboring medical professionals and organizations that also need our help.  PPE can also be requested through our webpage.  You will also find our designs posted there.

Feel free to share this with your network and help us expand our capacity to assist in protecting our medical professionals.

Please stay tuned and connect with us as we collectively address this crisis.
