Professor Akhavan’s class “Doing Good: How to Start and Run a Successful Nonprofit Organization” (MDA 300x; Dornsife Toolkit) still has a few openings left.

If you are looking for a 2-unit credit/no credit course on what it takes to start the foundation, charity, or service organization of their dreams, then consider registering https://classes.usc.edu/term-20213/classes/mda.

Here’s a link to a Dornsife Magazine article about some of the students in the class and their impressive achievements https://dornsife.usc.edu/news/stories/3376/class-on-doing-good/.

The class is especially good for Trojans looking to make an impact on society and give back to communities and causes in need. Professor Akhavan has fantastic guest speakers nearly every week so students can hear from diverse experts and grow their own professional networks. Students learn about purpose, mechanics of a startup, partnerships, board members, business models, storytelling, marketing, grant writing, making a great pitch, measuring impact, and more.

Thanks and Fight On!
