We invite you to become a mentor or mentee with the Women in Engineering (WiE) MENTOR Program! Applications for the 2023-2024 academic year will be available soon!

The WiE MENTOR program pairs female undergraduates with more senior female students. The program aims to provide students with a source of support and guidance while helping to build community among all Viterbi women. WIE mentors will insp​ire students and help increase the retention of women in engineering.

Being a Mentor – Commitments

  1. Contact mentee(s) at least once a week. This can be an email, telephone call, text, coffee, or dinner
  2. Attend WiE MENTOR mentor orientation
  3. Attend WiE MENTOR Reveal and Reception on September 15th
  4. Attend at least 2 WiE events per semester
  5. Enthusiasm and willingness to answer questions from first year students about classes, engineering majors, student organizations, research, internships, etc.

Being a Mentee – Benefits

  1. Access to a resource, role model, and source of support
  2. Expand personal and professional networks
  3. Increase confidence, motivation, and self-awareness
  4. Opportunities to connect with faculty, staff, and alumni

Additional Benefits – Connect with Alumni!

By joining WiE MENTOR you will also join the new Viterbi Link online mentorship platform that will allow you as a mentor or mentee to connect with Viterbi alumni worldwide! Alumni will provide career, academic, and life advice over a few weeks, or engage in 30 minute flash mentoring sessions.
