Center for Risk and Economic Analysis of Threats and Emergencies (CREATE)

Lab Description: As the Department of Homeland Security’s first University Center of Excellence, CREATE serves our nation through creation of advanced models and tools for the evaluation of the risks, costs and consequences of threats to human livelihood and through assessment of strategies to mitigate risks and respond to emergencies.  CREATE's approach is integrated, holistic and impartial, providing independent assessment of hazards, both malevolent and unintentional, including terrorism, accidents, and naturally occurring events.

Lab Description:The COVID-19 Data Repository, based in the Epstein Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Southern California, provides: Access to public data sources related to COVID-19 transmission, interventions and consequences; Visualization of disease transmission over time, by location; Outcomes and research from our novel models of COVID-19; Patient flow models that integrate disease transmission with the provision of healthcare resources. Our work is supported by USC’s Zumberge Innovation Fund, special solicitation for COVID-19 research
