Viterbi Undergraduate Advising

The Journey Begins Here

Academic Advising

How does advising work?

During your first year at USC, you will work with a First-Year Advisor. Your advisor will help you get setup in your first semester of classes, find student organizations to join, navigate the policies and guidelines of USC, and everything else that comes with getting acclimated to campus!

As a sophomore, you will begin working directly with your major department. You will work with your department advisor to stay on track to graduation as you dive deeper into your respective major.

Viterbi students meet with an advisor every semester to check-in, update course plans, and continue to stay connected to resources. In addition to Mandatory Advisement, students are welcome to visit their advisor during drop-in hours for quick questions.
