Graduates will select their preferred day and time by logging in to their Marching Order account during the second phase of registration. You will be notified via email from Marching Order when the second phase of registration opens. Capacity at all ceremonies is limited.

Virtual Celebration FAQ
Q: How do I get my diploma cover if I cannot attend in person?
A: Please fill out the diploma cover request form if you cannot attend the in-person ceremonies.
Q: If I cannot attend in person, how can I get a copy of the printed Program?
A: Please fill out this form to request a copy of the printed program. You will also be able to download a copy of the program from the commencement website and virtual platform.
In-Person Commencement FAQ
Q: Do I need to wear regalia for the in-person Commencement ceremonies?
A: Yes, regalia is available to rent or purchase through the USC Bookstore.
Q: Where do I pick up my honor cord?
A: Honor cords are provided by your individual school and will be mailed to your permanent address prior to commencement.
Q: How do I get a copy of the 2021 commencement printed program?
A: The commencement printed program will be handed out at the in-person ceremonies at the Coliseum. You will also be able to download a copy of the program from the commencement website and virtual platform.
Q: What date and time will the in-person Viterbi Undergraduate Ceremony take place?
A: May 19, 2021, 3:30 - 6:00 pm; May 20, 2021, 8:00 - 10:30 am; May 20, 2021, 3:30 - 6:00 pm
Q: Who can participate in the Viterbi Undergraduate Ceremony?
A: Any Viterbi students who graduated in fall 2019, spring 2020, summer 2020, fall 2020, spring 2021, summer 2021 or fall 2021 are invited to participate.
Q: Will ADA accommodations be available for guests?
A: ADA accommodations will be available for the in-person ceremony at the coliseum. Please refer to the USC FAQ page for more information: https://commencement.usc.edu/
Q: Will the ceremony be live streamed?
A: Ceremonies will also be live streamed online. The link to view the live steam will be posted on this page a few days before Commencement.
Q: Will my student’s name be in the Commencement program?
A: The May 2021 Commencement Program will include the names of graduates with degree dates of fall 2019, spring 2020, summer 2020, fall 2020, spring 2021 and summer 2021. Graduates with degree dates in fall 2021 will be included in the 2022 Viterbi Commencement Program.
Q: I am not familiar with campus. Can I get directions?
A: You can find detailed driving directions to campus here.
Q: When will I receive my diploma?
A: Diplomas are not handed out on Commencement Day. Once your grades have been confirmed, diplomas will be mailed out, generally within 4-8 weeks.
Q: Where and when do I rent/purchase regalia?
A: Students can rent or purchase robes from the USC Bookstore. Each rental comes with a tassel for the cap that can be kept as a souvenir. Graduates are encouraged to pre-order their regalia (cap & gown). Regalia pre-orders are available for pickup at the University Bookstore. Ordering and distribution of regalia will take place on the 3rd floor of the Bookstore. For rental charges and further information regarding regalia, please click here.
