Viterbi Student & Academic Services + John Brooks Slaughter Center
Viterbi Student & Academic Services and the John Brooks Slaughter Center focus on student services and programming in four areas: academic, career, social, and health. We believe development and engagement in these areas are essential to student success.
These programs are open to all eligible individuals. The Viterbi School of Engineering operates all of its programs and activities consistent with the University’s Notice of Non-Discrimination. The Viterbi Undergraduate Advising page offers comprehensive support to engineering students, focusing on personalized guidance, and community building. Students can access one-on-one academic advising, utilize online tools like the STARS report and AdviseUSC, and participate in workshops aimed at professional growth
Career Development
Viterbi Career Connections provide career services to current Viterbi students to prepare for their career after graduation. Career Services include career advising, workshops, events, job and internship search resources, and international student career resources.
Student Engagement
Student life encompasses the many aspects of the college experience outside the classroom. The resources, events, and information provided in the area of student engagement aim to help students get connected, get involved, and build a strong sense of belonging.

Undergraduate Student Advising
As a Viterbi undergraduate student, you are assigned an academic advisor, who is here to help you navigate from new student orientation all the way to graduation. Your academic advisor will assist you with learning and understanding your degree requirements and relevant academic policies and procedures; advise you on course planning and registration each semester to help you stay on track to achieving your goals; connect you to resources and opportunities to enhance your academic experience; and support your growth and success as a student, an engineer, and a part of the Viterbi community.
