MENTORSHIP TESTIMONIALS

"The mentorship program is what got me involved in WIE. Starting my freshman year meeting with my Viterbi alumni mentor was an invaluable experience where I got to learn so much about academics and professional life after college. I wouldn’t be where I am now without the WIE mentorship program!"

“My mentor was always incredibly helpful and consistently checked in each month to make sure I never felt left in the dark. She answered all my questions about transitioning to USC, from the best study spots and clubs to join to her internship experiences. I'm super lucky to have had all her advice and insights!”

“My mentor embodies what the mentorship program is all about and has made my experience as a first-year student at USC so much more welcoming. She has also helped me feel more confident being a woman in engineering by giving me insight into what a real engineering job, specifically in industrial and systems engineering, looks like.”

“My mentor has been a constant supportive figure throughout my first year at USC. I signed up for this program with the hopes of finding a mentor who could help me better understand what I could expect from my time as a student here, and what I received was a wonderful new friend whom I can rely on to be there for me! Her kindness and commitment to this program and me are a privilege that I am grateful to have experienced. She was able to provide me with a perspective as an alumnus that has helped make my future a little less uncertain, and I can't wait to continue to stay in touch with her even as the year comes to an end. I couldn't have asked for a better mentor! ”

“My mentor has been incredibly welcoming and caring throughout my coming to college and adjusting to a new environment. She has encouraged me to branch out of my comfort zone and has given me a lot of advice during this transition; she has helped make WIE and USC Viterbi an inviting place :). I always love spending time with her and am grateful to have had her as a mentor. I look up to her as a balanced, accomplished, and thoughtful individual (as well as engineer).”
