Thanks to generous industry sponsors, and The Viterbi School of Engineering, the following program expenses are covered: housing, meals, and supplies. Transportation to and from campus, and spending money is the responsibility of the participants. Transportation vouchers are available. Please contact us for more information if you have any questions or concerns.
Transportation vouchers are available for any student in need of financial support getting to and/or from campus during the month of July. Please indicate on your application that you are interested in receiving a Travel Grant if you are in need of financial assistance with your cost of travel.
The deadline to apply is May 22nd.
The courses do not count as unit credit, but will help students get a sense of what to expect out of college-level classes.
No. The weekends will include organized trips and social activities to assist in building friendships and support networks. If there is a concern you have about the weekends or if you are unable to participate in a weekend activity, please work with our staff directly on arrangements.
We would prefer participants to arrive on by our start date, but understand if that is not possible. Please contact us to discuss.
To maximize your experience in VSI, we strongly encourage all participants to stay for the length of the program. If you are unable to join us for the full duration of VSI, please contact the CED staff to discuss options, including an opportunity to register for an online track of the VSI program.
Students are scheduled to move-in to their designated USC residence hall on the morning or early afternoon of Tuesday, July 5th. Our official kick-off to the program is scheduled for 4:00pm that afternoon and students will start classes on Thursday, July 7th. More information regarding housing and check-in will be provided by early June.
The formal program concludes Friday, July 29th at 3p and you may begin to make arrangements to depart from the program after you have checked out with your RA. However, all students must check out Saturday, July 30th by 11a.

All students will receive a recommended packing list in early June. Bedding for the summer program is provided by USC Housing and some students find a laptop convenient to have, although it is not required.
