Published by USC Viterbi students, Illumin is an online magazine whose mission is to show how engineering affects our lives on a daily basis. Illumin has world-wide readership, their articles are cited on various academic and trade websites, and publishers have excerpted their articles in textbooks.
A staff of undergraduate editors, in conjunction with a graphic designer, a web developer, and a faculty advisor, publishes Illumin by editing, writing, and creating multimedia content for online articles and features. They are currently seeking team-oriented individuals to fill editorial positions for the 2023-2024 academic year. Editors’ responsibilities include but are not limited to:
– Reading and assessing submissions
– Editing articles for clarity
– Putting together issues
– Marketing the magazine
The time commitment is 1-2 hours per week in meetings, and 5-6 hours per week of independent work. All positions are paid by stipend and do not require work-study.
