USC Viterbi’s iPodia program is offering ENGR 345 Principles and Practices of Global Innovation in Fall 2021. This 3-unit class is open to USC undergraduate students from all majors and schools. The course will offer two sections on Thursdays: 8:00 – 10:00 AM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

The course emphasizes the importance of cross-cultural interactions in developing innovative products and business ideas in our rapidly globalizing world. It will be taught by Dr. Stephen Lu, Professor of Industrial & Systems Engineering, Computer Science, and Aerospace & Mechanical Engineering at USC.

In the course, students will:

– Learn how to leverage cultural diversity to inspire innovation through borderless peer-learning, team projects, and cross-cultural exercises
– Attend lectures with classmates around the world.
– Participate in global virtual teams to exchange perspectives and work collaboratively on innovative projects.
– Possibly join a one-week educational trip abroad at one of the university partners after finals week at an additional cost through a separate application and selection process

Visit the iPodia website for more information about the course, and contact ipodia@usc.edu with any questions.
