Calling all first-generation Trojan Alum! The First-Generation Mentor Program through the USC Career Center connects first-generation undergraduate students with first-generation Trojan alumni. Our goal is to provide these students with exposure to the working world and a focus on professional and career development to prepare them before they graduate. We are currently accepting applications for mentors, who identify as a first-generation college student and attended USC in their undergraduate and/or graduate programs.

For the upcoming program, we will be conducting the program in a hybrid model, with both On-Campus and online opportunities to engage with our students and fellow mentors. Our program will run from September 2021 to April 2022, and you can read the full program details as well as access the application through this link:

Our program is facilitated through The Trojan Network, USC’s free online professional networking and mentorship platform. If you do not have an account already, you will be prompted to fill out the registration questions for Trojan Network after completing the First-Generation Mentor Program questions. We recommend using LinkedIn to save time on filling information as well as use Chrome, Firefox or Safari for accessibility.

Applications are now open and the deadline to submit your qualifications will be August 4, 2021. You can access the Mentor application through this link:

The student application will go live on August 18, 2021 as well, with additional information to be shared. Please email Mallika Samtani at if you have any questions and hope you have a wonderful day!
