The application for the USC Viterbi – Tsinghua University Summer Research Program is now available and due by December 15, 2020.

The Tsinghua Summer Research Program takes a select group of USC Viterbi undergraduate students to conduct research at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China along with a $7000 stipend for housing, airfare, and living expenses.  The application asks for a faculty letter of recommendation and statements about your research experience.

The program is planned to run for 6-7 weeks from June-July, 2020 where you will work approximately 30 hours per week in the lab while also exploring the culture of China.

This program is funded by a generous contribution from Viterbi Alumnus Feng Deng, who understands the importance of collaborative exchanges between two outstanding research institutions. The goal of this program is to provide students who have had very little exposure to China or Chinese culture with opportunities to learn more about the country, culture, and research approaches.

Important Note:

The University is currently reviewing how it will proceed with international programs for summer 2021 given the current situation with COVID-19.  This trip is dependent on university guidelines. Viterbi and the university both reserve the right to postpone or cancel this program.
