Biotronik Info Session-Oct.8th (12-2pm)

By October 6, 2015Career Services, Events

Biotronik is a pioneer in developing innovative technologies and medical devices that save and enhance the quality of life for millions of individuals living with cardiovascular disorders. The company is dedicated to the design and construction of implantable medical devices for cardiac rhythm management and other therapies. With more than 40 years of experience, their growing success is based on our company’s core values – innovation, excellence and reliability, thus enabling us to inspire confidence and trust in doctors and patients all over the world.

They have two internship programs for Biomedical Engineering students:

1.) The in-house internship is a three month program that is highly individualized and project based, which is determined by the student and the hiring manager who will place the student with a team of in-house employees where the student can work on a set of objectives and projects for a three month period. It’s very hands-on and special in that they would be working directly with a mentor who is sharing our technology and helping them to further develop their career.

2.) The field intern program is something that is open to new graduates only, as it is a year long and is viewed more as the first step in their career rather than a defined internship. In the first year they are working with other field employees to learn the products on a very deep technological level, and are in the field speaking with patients as well as doctors who will be using the devices. These field representatives are actually in the operating room  so it is a very unique and exciting field to get into. After their first year, they are field certified and are able to work completely independently.
